The incidence
of heart disease is increasing at a dramatic and alarming rate in
all sectors of Indian society, especially the urban professionals,
executives and business people.
Recent research
has proven that coronary artery disease can be prevented by a carefully
planned regimen of diet, exercise, and stress reduction techniques
such as biofeedback and special breathing exercises. Coronary angiograms
(special X-ray of the blood vessels of the heart) have shown actual
reversal of the narrowing of the blood vessels by the use of such
regimens and techniques.
It is now proven
that we do not have to remain helpless victims and allow ourselves
to have heart attacks. We can have control over the health of our
heart, and also over our blood pressure, if we learn appropriate techniques
and practice them.
Hypertension is
rising significantly in India. By practising special techniques and
regimens, high blood pressure can be reduced and controlled, decreasing
the need for medication. Other heart disorders, such as disturbances
of heart rhythm and congestive heart failure, can also be helped.
In order to help
overcome the rising incidence of coronary heart disease and hypertension
in India, H.H.Dr.Swami Rama made the Combined Therapy Programme an
integral feature of this superspeciality Medical Institute.
