Homoeopathy is a system in which specially prepared medicines are prescribed on an individual basis to reinforce the body's innate healing force so that the individual is less susceptible to infection and serious illnesses. All aspects of the person are taken into consideration - physical, emotional and mental. Homoeopathy is especially useful in the treatment of chronic diseases and to enhance the healing process in commom injuries such as sprains, fracture, burns and allergies.

Center for Trauma Healing

The Himalayan Institute Hospital is pleased to announce another unique and innovative addition to its integrated health services: The Homeopathic Center for Trauma Healing at HIHT.

The Center is part of the Homeopathic Department and offers homeopathic treatment and craniosacral therapy as the basic therapeutic modalities for trauma healing. Other therapies are recommended according to individual need.

Homeopathy is so effective in posttraumatic healing because homeopathic remedies directly enhance the inherent healing capacity that exists within every person. Here at HIHT we have been using homeopathic medicines to assist in post trauma healing and in reducing the pain of many types of trauma:

    Burn injuries, old burn scars
Recurring and/or non-healing ulcers that have formed after a burn or other injury
    Non-healing wounds and bed sores
    Head injuries, blows, and concussions
    Hemiparesis, hemiplegia after cardio-vascular stroke
    Back and spinal injuries
Conditions arising from birth trauma such as cerebral palsy and delayed development
    Fractures, non-healing fractures
    Osteomyelitis
Post-surgery healing-general surgery, plastic surgery, skin grafting, cleft lip and cleft palate repair, brain and     spinal surgery
    Post-delivery healing
Minor injuries such as sprains, insect bites and stings
    Sports injuries
    Bruises, lacerations, puncture wounds
    Post dental treatment healing
    Mental and emotional trauma
    Toxic effects from drugs

It makes no difference if the trauma is recent or very remote. If you are experiencing the effects of trauma of any kind, homeopathy can help you.

CranioSacral Therapy

The craniosacral system consists of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. It extends from the bones of the skull, face and mouth, which make up the cranium, down to the sacrum, or tailbone area.

Craniosacral therapy is performed on a person fully clothed. Using a very light touch of only 5 grams, the therapist monitors the rhythm of the craniosacral system to detect potential restrictions and imbalances. Since this vital system influences the development and performance of the brain and spinal cord, an imbalance or restriction in it could potentially cause any number of sensory, motor or neurological disabilities.

Craniosacral therapy encourages your own natural healing mechanisms to dissipate the effects of stress and trauma on the central nervous system. You can also benefit from better overall health and resistance to disease. It helps alleviate a range of illness, pain and dysfunction, including:
    migraines and headaches
    chronic neck and back pain
    motor-coordination impairments
    stress and tension-related problems
    infantile disorders
traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries
    chronic fatigue
    scoliosis
    central nervous system disorders
    emotional difficulties
    temporo-mandibular joint syndrome (TMJ)
    learning disabilities
    post-traumatic stress disorder
    orthopaedic problems
    many other conditions

The Homeopathic Center for Trauma Healing is not meant to replace Emergency Care or surgery when required, but even in very severe injuries, homeopathy can help to reduce the pain, to decrease the amount time needed for healing, and to avoid the long-term effects of trauma.
