General
Information
(i) The Himalayan College of Nursing
is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC), Uttarakhand State
Medical Faculty and is affliated to HNB Garhwal University, Srinagar,
Uttarakhand.
(ii) The Himalayan College of
Nursing would be conducting Pre-Nursing Entrance Examination (PNEE-2010)
for admission into Basic B.Sc. Nursing (B.Sc. (N)), Post Basic B.Sc
Nursing (P.B.B.Sc.(N))and M.Sc. Nursing (M.Sc.(N))courses.
(iii) The eligible candidates
who are selected through PNEE will be given admission to the above
courses after counseling on merit basis.
(iv) The PNEE shall be held in
the month of July every year.
(v) The Entrance Examination will
be conducted at Himalayan Institute, Swami Ram Nagar, P.O. Doiwala,
Distt. Dehradun-248140, Uttarakhand.
Important: College reserves the
right to change/cancel date of examiantion under extraordinary circumstances.

Basic B.
Sc. Programme:
Higher Secondary/
Intermediate or any other equivalent examination with pass marks
in English and at least 50% marks in Science subjects, viz. Physics,
Chemistry and Biology. The minimum age is 17 years completed on
or before 1st September of the academic year in which admission
is sought. Male candidates are eligible for taking up this study
programme.
Post Basic
B.Sc. Programme:
Pass in Diploma
in Nursing Course from an INC recognized institution with 50% aggregate
marks; Registered in parent Nursing Council;
Working experience: Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in a minimum
200-bedded hospital;
Male candidates are eligible for taking up this study programme.
M.Sc. Nursing
Programme:
Pass in Basic
B.Sc./Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing (Regular/IGNOU) with minimum 55% aggregate
marks;
Registered in parent Nursing Council
Working experience: Minimum 1 year experience (Preferred clinical
in minimum 200 bedded hospital.
Male candidates are eligible for taking up this study programme.

Admission
Procedure
All eligible candidates
will be required to appear for an entrance test. It is of 2 hours
duration and includes questions in the areas of Physics, Chemistry,
Biology, Mathematics, General Knowledge, and English. The general
standard of the examination are that of Higher Secondary/ Intermediate.
The candidates whose names are included in the merit list are then
interviewed. The selection of candidates is made after counseling
on the basis of their performance in entrance test. The selected candidates
are medically examined by a Medical Board appointed for the purpose
at the time of admission. Only physically fit candidates are eligible
for admission.
The application form must be
accompanied with:
(a) Attested photocopy of High
School/ICSE/Class X, or its equivalent, pass certificate as
proof of date of birth.
(b) Attested photocopy of the mark sheet of the qualifying examination
from a recognized Board/University/or in case of appearing candidates
a certificate to that effect from head ofthe institution.
(c) Attested photocopy of Caste Certificate, if applicable.
(d) Attested photocopy of Domacile Proof.
(e) Attested photocopy of Registration of Parent Council in case of
candidates applying for Post Basic B.Sc.(N) & M.Sc.(N) programs
(f) Attested photocopy experience certificate in case of candidates
applying forPost Basic B.Sc.(N) & M.Sc.(N) programs
Scope
of Examination and Evaluation
(i) All candidates should
appear for the PNEE-2010.The distribution of questions for entrance
examination for each program will be as follows:
(a) Basic B.Sc.(N) - Physics-40;
Chemistry-40; Biology-80; English-40. A total of 200 questions.
(b) Post Basic B.Sc.(N) - Fundamental
of Nursing -: 30; OBG Nursing -: 30; Child Health Nursing - : 30;
Adult Health Nursing -: 30; Mental Health Nursing - : 30; Community
Health Nursing - 30; Education - 10; Administration and Management
- 10. A total of 200 questions.
(c) M.Sc.(N) - Fundamental of
Nursing -: 25; OBG Nursing -: 25; Child Health Nursing - : 25; Adult
Health Nursing -: 25; Mental Health Nursing - : 25; Community Health
Nursing - 25; Education - 15; Administration and Management - 15;
Research & Statistics - 20. A total of 200 questions.
(ii) The syllabus for entrance
examination for Basic B.Sc.(N) will be as per the 10+2 examination
(CBSE /ICSE/ ISC/ Uttarakhand Board or their equivalent). for Post
Basic B.Sc.(N) and M.Sc.(N) will be as per the INC syllabi The question
paper will be in English only.
(iii) All the questions will be
objective type with multiple (A, B, C, D) choice of which, only one
will be the most appropriate. Each correct answer shall be awarded
ONE mark. ZERO marks shall be given to no response and incorrect answers.
More than one choice indicated against a question shall be considered
as an incorrect response and ZERO marks will be given. There is no
negative marking.
Result
And Selection The
merit list shall be prepared separately for all the three programs
indicating the Roll.No. and marks obtained. The merit list will be
in descending order (i.e. the candidate secruing the highest marks
will be at rank No.1 and the candidate secruing the lowest marks will
be at the end of the merit list.)
Admission
The Admission
of the selected candidates shall be done by a Admissions Committee.
(i) At the time of counseling/admission
into the program, the candidate has to submit in original the following
documents.
(a) High School certificate
as proof of date of birth.
(b) Mark sheets of the qualifying examinations.
(c) Pass Certificates of the qualifying examinations.
(d) Recent Character certificate from the school/college last attended.
(e) Transfer Certificate/School leaving certificate *.
(f) Degree/Diplma Certificates (applicable only for Post Basic &
M.Sc. Programs)
(g) Registration of Parent Council (applicable only for Post Basic
& M.Sc. Programs)
(h) Experience Certificate (applicable only for Post Basic &
M.Sc. Programs)
(f) S.C./S.T./O.B.C Certificate, if applicable.
(g) Admit Card of PNEE 2010.
(h) Six passport size photographs.
(ii) Candidates who have qualified
for admission to a program shall have to deposit the prescribed full
fees at the time of admission. Those who fail to do so will loose
their claim for admission into program.
(iii) Candidates shall be required
to complete the admission formalities and join the course within the
specified period.
(iv) All admissions are subject
to verification of authenticity of the original certificates/documents
of the candidates. The decision of the Admissions Committee
regarding the eligibility of any applicant shall be final.
(v) Candidate, who after joining,
remains absent continuously for 30 days without any intimation will
be presumed not interested in pursuing the program and the seat shall
be treated as vacant and allotted to other eligible candidate(s).
*Migration Certificate to be given at the time of enrolment.The
admission shall close by 30th September every year. If any student
discontinues the studies after this period or in the subsequent years
or does not join the program by the stipulated date, they are liable
to pay the tuition fee for the remaining year(s). The candidate may
be asked to submit a bank guarantee by the college.
Scholarship
Scholarships may be given
to exceptionally meritorious cum poor candidate from Uttarakhand regardless
of caste or creed.
Eligibility:
* Resident of Uttarakhand with
family income less than Rs.2,50,000/- per annum (inclusive of all
incomes).
* High marks in Entrance Examination and Interview
* Certificate of Income & Residence signed by a competent authority.
