Since the 2000s, the Rural Development Institute (RDI) of the Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust has been instrumental in transforming the lives of tribal communities in the Kalsi and Chakrata blocks of Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Strengthening Program Implementation to Achieve Single-digit Neonatal Mortality in Haridwar District, Uttarakhand by 2026 Sankalp is a multidistrict project focused on strengthening program implementation to reduce neonatal mortality to single-digit in 10 selected sites across the country. These sites are Varanasi and Unnao in Uttar Pradesh, Haridwar in Uttarakhand, Ambala in Haryana, Khargaon in Madhya SANKALP

We’ve come of Age !

Nagthath in Khalsi block of Dehradun district is home to Jaunsari tribes who constitute 33% of the population in the State.  Since 2004, RDI has made localized efforts in offering its services to the people from this earlier hard to reach tribal population.   Many interventions done include clinical services through our post graduate medical students; We’ve come of Age !

Sports and Wellbeing

As our Founder gave importance to physical fitness, encouraging sports among the unprivileged has been one of the endeavours of RDI.  Over the years, children have benefited from the use of playgrounds in the campus as well as through the distribution of games items in their respective areas focusing on those who can’t afford.  This Sports and Wellbeing
