The unique concept of mind rejuvenation explained in Ayurveda by Acharya Charaka.
The word Achar means the ‘mental attitude’ and rasayana means the ‘rejuvenation’. The methods explained for the mind rejuvenation by the great Ayurvedic physician Acharya Charaka are the rejuvenating attitudes as:
1. Satyavadi: To be truthful
2. Akrodha: Free from anger
3. Madya maithuna nivriti: Avoiding alcohol and maintaining celibacy
4. Ahimsa: Avoiding violence
5. Anayaasa: Avoiding exhaustion, stress, worries and excessive thinking
6. Prashant: Calm
7. Priyavadi: Talking softly/pleasantly
8. Japa: Following religious rites
9. Shoucha param: Maintaining hygiene
10. Dheera: Stable in thoughts
11. Daan nityam: Indulging in charity works regularly
12. Tapasavi: Meditating regularly
13. Deva Gau Brahman Guru Vridha Archanam: Respecting God, cow, brahamans, teachers, preceptors and old
14. Nitya aanrashasya param: Avoiding barbaric behaviour
15. Nitya karuna vedinam: Being compassionate
16. Sam jagran swapanam: Maintaining regular habit of sleep and awakening
17. Nitya ksheer ghritashinam: Regular intake of milk and ghee
18. Desha kaal praman jnanam: Keeping knowledge of things appropriate to place and time
19. Yukti jnanam: Keeping rationality
20. Anahankritam: Free from ego
21. Shasta achar: Good conduct
22. Asankeernam: Non- narrow mindedness
23. Adhyatma pravanendriyam: Indulging on spiritual knowledge
24. Upasita vridhanam aastikam: Respecting seniors and those believe in existence of higher energies/God
25. Jit aatmanam: Having self-control
26. Dharma shastraparam vidyannaram: Regular study of scriptures/ religious literatures.
Practicing this therapy regularly helps to improve patience and tolerance in turn is helpful in maintaining family and social relationship.
